Peugeot 208 GTi Update SMEG+ firmware v5.42.B.R4

Please follow the step by step guide to update your SMEG+ firmware to v5.42.B.R4 for your Peugeot 208 GTi.

Here are the instructions to update the SMEG Plus version 5.42.B.R4. This is the latest update I have found. If you own the Peugeot 208 GTi you can follow the instructions below.

First please make sure you are running the software for at least version 4.x.x.x or 5.x.x.x in order for this to work. If you have 3.x.x.x or 6.x.x.x then you need to use other software and not this one.

Steps to check your version:

1. Start the engine and wait for the headunit to complete start up.
2. Long press on the MENU or SCR button depending on model.
3. The popup will show your version.

Instruction for updating your headunit.

1. Download the firmware SMEG Plus version 5.42.B.R4 from here.
2. After download, unpack the archive files on your computer.
3. Copy the folder SMEG_PLUS_UPG to the root of the USB drive(formatted in FAT32 with the minimum of 2GB).
4. Start your engine and wait for the head unit to complete startup.
5. Plug in the USB drive and wait for the popup to appear on screen.
6. It will take a while, if you encounter that the drive cannot be read due to write protected just unplug and replug in again.
7. After reading the drive, it will popup a screen asking you whether you want to update. Just select YES.
8. It will then start the update process, there will be blue screen as well as restart a few times. Just wait it out.
9. Upon the final restart, it will then read the USB drive again and ask whether you want to update. Just click on NO this time as the update process is done.
10. Now you can unplug the USB drive and the update is done.

You can now repeat the same process to check your version to ensure it is updated.
